🔍 What is the course about?
We would like to invite you to participate in a research study under the supervision of Dr Anna Veres-Székely, Research Professor at the Institute of Psychology, ELTE.
Location: 1064 Budapest, Izabella u. 46.
You will be asked to participate in two 1 hour experiment sessions at pre-arranged times. You will have the opportunity to try a novel biofeedback technology that measures physiological stress levels and records selected indicators of nervous system functioning as they change across different situations.
As a compulsory part of the course, you will be invited to participate in two goup research sessions, each lasting 1 hours. You will also be asked to complete questionnaires related to the study. These will be administered online on two occasions and will take a maximum of one hour each.

The data collected in this research will provide the basis for research conducted by students working within the Adaptation Research Group, including PhD students, thesis students, and students participating in scientific student research projects.

📝 What will your grade be based on?Â
To complete the course, you must fulfil the compulsory components by the relevant deadlines: attending the in-person research sessions and completing the questionnaires.
Together, these compulsory activities involve a maximum of five hours of actual tasks.
Your final grade will reflect the completeness of your participation in the research and whether you have met the required deadlines.
There will be NO additional assessment or examination.
🔬 What will happen during the study?Â
By measuring changes in the electrical properties of the skin, the device can detect changes in the body’s level of physiological activation, or arousal, with high precision. A software application provides immediate visual feedback on these changes in the form of waves. The figure below shows four consecutive screen images seen by a person who is successfully regulating their emotional state.
